The ones at caster level 12 can be dispelled pretty easily in the standard way (it's a DC of 23 vs your caster level + d20), but you have a much smaller chance of hitting the the caster level 20 spells (DC of 31 vs your caster level + d20). Playful darkness can't hit the creeping doom's summoned swarms, and they inflict damages automatically, so they kill him slowly but surely with mark of justice that deny his damage reduction. If pets are about to die, you also need to summon anything that can block Playful darkness so he can't reach your characters.
