I looked up the head casting numbers 3998920 and it said they are 72-73 350. The intake valves are big on these heads.Anyone know this block GM 41 3970010. I would think 1978 cause the small pad in the front of the engine is the smaller square shape not the longer more narrow older style pad for 1968. The pad is smooth so theres no engine codes. I have found Four numbers. 3970010 along with "hecho en mexico" on the back drivers side. 254 on the back passenger side. 010 on the drivers side in front of the oil filter. and the engine code is "MK01800." I just bought a chevy 350 as a builder. Complete long block for $100. Any way I got the motor out of a 1982 el camino. I don't think it was original, i.e. they only came with 305's that year, as far as I know. The casting number on the block is 3970010. From the stuff I read it could be a 1969 to 1979 350 2 or 4 bolt ( this one is a 2 bolt ).
