Replaced shift control assembly and installed harness as per doc#5403533It may have the bad contact and this is why the message may appear. If this doesn’t help, set the shifter to Neutral, turn off the car, apply the parking brake, and you are good to go. If nothing helps, you may try extreme ways of turning the engine off. Apply the parking brake, set the shifter to N, and open the hood.The dash said "shift to park" lol. Push the shifter forward into park, message went away. Exactly as it should. Test two, tried to move the shifter out of park without pushing the button. Result, nope, you have to both push the brake and depress the button just like you had to do before.
